Out of school care

In response to parent demand the school has organised Breakfast and After School clubs starting in January 2024. The offer is open to children who attend

Layston C of E First School and Layston Pre-school. This will be run by our

dedicated school staff, Mrs Debbie McTigue, Miss Harriet Morten, Mrs Alison Foster, Mrs Tanya Sullivan, Mrs Hayley Wilson and Mrs Tracy Dixon.

Layston Breakfast Club Provision

Our Breakfast Club runs from 7:45am-8:45am and is offered every morning of the school week.

We encourage the children to develop their independence via a self-service breakfast; the children are offered a wide range of healthy foods including: toast, cereals and yogurts. This is accompanied by apple juice, orange juice, milk or water to drink.

We support the children to build friendships with children of different ages and they can take part in a range of activities including; crafts, games and reading etc.

Layston After School Club Provision

Our After School Club runs from 3:15pm-5:15pm Monday to Thursday.

We offer the children a light tea (4:15-4:30pm) before they go home. The teas on offer include meals such as beans on toast, cheesy muffins, pizza wraps, pasta and sauce.

We encourage the children to use the toys and games on offer, including books and sports equipment. Our wonderful outside space and resources are accessed weather permitting.

Booking and Payment

All bookings are to be made via the online booking system on the website (Parent Evening System) and all payments for Layston Wrap Around Care will need to be made via School Gateway.

You will be required to initially register before booking and pay for sessions in advance. This is the only system we use for booking and payments. Please ensure you book and pay prior to your child attending breakfast or after school provision. When registering, please read the terms and conditions; you will be required to agree to these in order to use this provision.

Registration

There is a registration fee of £10 per family. This is a one-off fee for registering your child or children in wrap around care at Layston C of E First School.

With this booking and payment system, you are able to book and pay for a place for your child up to the start of any session. This means if you require a place for your child last minute, you will need to register (if you haven’t already), book and pay.
